‘Ohana Play and Learn

Come and play with us at the 'Ohana Play and Learn (OPL), where families play, read and learn! Families come in while they wait for appointments and even when they do not have appointments! Time spent with family is precious and improves children's social/emotional skills. We encourage families coming and talking stories with us.

Families Have Access to: 

The ‘Ohana Play and Learn room, where families play and learn from one another while waiting for appointments.

  • Engage in activities: reading, drawing, art projects, singing and dancing. 

  • Build strong relationships between parents and children. Ex: Playing and reading with one another.  

  • Engage in conversation with other parents and staff with similar parenting challenges and finding solutions and resources. 

  • Learn developmentally appropriate practices for building children’s self-esteem and self-confidence. 

  • Understanding parenting styles and how parents influence children’s behaviors. 

  • Assistance with applying for preschool and other programs.  

  • Participate in parent talk story time (sharing).

Monday 8:30-11:30 AM & 1:00-4:00 PM 

Tuesday  8:30-11:30 AM & 1:00-4:00 PM 

Wednesday 8:30-11:30 AM & 1:00-4:00 PM 

Thursday 8:30-11:30 AM & 1:00-4:00 PM 

Friday 9:00-11:30 AM 

Location 2: Health Education room next to Roots Cafe

Every Tuesday & Thursday  2:00 - 4:00 PM

WHO CAN PARTICPATE? 

Parents and children who:  

  • Are waiting for an appointment at KKV main clinic. 

  • Would like to get to know other families. 

  • Would like their children to interact with other children. 

If room has no space for others, books or toys are available upon request in wait areas.
